Today was a great day. Lunch at Hacienda, last day of school before finals. Dinner with friends and a half-priced pizza for Brian and I at Mancino’s and I got the new Better Than Ezra cd in the mail. It’s not released until May 31, so I’m not sure how discorama in New York got advance copies, but I’m reaping the benefits right now. It sounds like a great album.
Then we went to the Interpreter, which was a very good movie. Then Halo was the nightcap. I’ve got 3 tests left for my Junior year. One on-line test, that I may take tomorrow if the mood strikes. The clock is ticking fast.
My computer is really sucking. I need to get a new computer sometime. Too bad, I won’t be able to afford one for awhile. It still works, but it runs so terribly slow I hate it.

"All the boys want to be the winner, but there can only be one"
Well the leak in my ceiling continues. Last night I played Halo until about 3:30 went to bed around 4:00 and was awoken at 5:00 by a ton of dripping. The trashcan I had to catch the water filled up about 6 inches. It was a long night.
Hopefully, it is fixed now as a plumber came to check out the pipes from the upstairs bathroom today. Well, I have 4 classes left for my Junior year of College. Three tests, one lecture, one class of sitting through presentations. The whole thing is wrapping up quickly. Three years down and one to go. Time really does fly. I'm almost 22. In 10 years I'll be 32 and my life for the next 20 years after will most likely be determined. Wierd to think about.
The new Halo 2 Maps rock. They are a blast.

"Sweet bird sing me a song"
Man...I have really been staying up too late. School is busy right now. I finished up most of my coursework, but I have 3 tests left that I'll be studying for over the next few days. I think tomorrow I'm pretty much relaxing. We'll see if that plan works out.

"I know it's never going to be the way you like"
The new Halo 2 Maps came out today, which was very cool. They seem pretty cool. That should give us something to do for the next few weeks, until the next 5 maps come out. The Halo video game is a good investment, and I would probably pay whatever I could afford to have access to maps and the game. I spend an average of 5-10 hours a week playing the game. I just got 2 new maps for $5.99 today. That's cheaper than going to a movie and I've already played those maps for almost 2 hours on the first day. What a good deal.
Reggie Miller led the Pacers to a game 2 victory over Boston with 28 points after the Pacers were demolished by 20 and down by over 35 at one point in game 1.
Alright time to go to bed. Got a long day tomorrow...full of homework and finishing a big paper!

"We dreamt a lot about it, but we never did go"
Well Teetering for Tots came to a close after 100 hours of tottering and inclement weather. I'm happy to have emerged a member of the victorious teams in Super C Speed Run (2 Person) and each of the Halo Tournaments. I missed the Tottering today, but helped clean-up for about 4 hours. It looks like we're going to get some new guys in Club next year, which will be cool.
Well our house was 48 degrees when I woke up. A little chilly. I'm sleeping in my loft under my sleeping bag tonight. I won a futon at TfT as well, which is very nice. 2 Cushions. I'll try it out for a few minutes in the morning.
My room is now equipped with a Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, and XBox. I have probably 150 game cartridges and 1,500 additional games on the XBox. Out of all these available games, I play probably 5 or less on a regular basis. That is pretty sad. But they're there if I ever do want to play them. I guess that's the point, but it's still sad.
Tomorrow new Halo 2 Maps come out. 4 of them. It's going to be awesome.

"Send me postcards from L.A."
Well my day was sort of short, as I ended up sleeping until 4:30. We finished up the Halo Tournaments tonight. Our team won them all. The last game ended up being 50-48 in Team Slayer and I had 3 of the last 4 kills to finish it for us. It felt pretty good.
When TfT started on Wednesday the sun was out and it was warm: shorts weather. Thursday it began to rain, the ground turned to mud as the rain drained into the tent. It continued to rain. Friday a brief tornado warning made the Dux boys rush the electronics into the Wellness Center. As Saturday ticked by the snow came down. 100 Hours of Teetering and Tottering under the worst possible circumstances.
All of our electronic stuff is muddy to some degree. I, personally, only tottered for 1.5 hours. A very small and almost shameful amount. But I did dedicate my weekend to being in the Tent. If they needed me, I tottered. Hence the 1.5 hours. Overall there was generally a crowd except for in the mornings. I left tonight with 5 Dux Boys and 1 Guest still in the tent. 2 of the above were getting ready to leave. Who knows how long of a shift they will be on. Do I feel bad leaving? Yes, I do. But 15 other members of the Club weren't there either. I almost feel that it should be a 50 Hour Marathon because we could still raise the same amount of money and do it all in one weekend. It's a ton of work-not that I did much work, but the 7-10 guys who did, really worked hard.
TfT was on the Front page of the Herald Bulletin a couple of days ago. Overall we raised around $5,000, I think. I'm hoping to win a Futon. We'll see if that pans out.

"Kiss the rain"
Teetering for Tots has been a muddy, rainy mess. It is utterly ridiculous how much rain and mud is in the tent. Yet we still have 8 TVs set up and a whole bunch of couches. And yes, much of the stuff is getting muddy too.
I've been up all night at the Tent playing video games and riding the Totter this morning. I'm exhausted and may go to sleep without an alarm clock to wake me up. I don't know if I've done that in ages. TfT makes for a busy weekend, I guess.
I want to just go over and hang out with Rogers for a few hours, but I've got to sleep and (depending on when I wake up) head back over to the Tent.
Also, my room continues to leak and smell like crap. Overall, this rain is terrible.

"Rainy days and Mondays always get me down"
Teetering for Tots is off and running. I slept out there last night and it was freezing. It's been storming and raining, but the party is hopping. Even now there are probably 20 people in the tent and it's a Thursday night.
A good time. Overall, I've been very stressed out and busy as I wrap up these projects I've been working on. The last one is due Monday, which will be great to get off my chest.
Reggie Miller's final home game of the regular season was last night. It was sad.
Finally, i have a huge leak in my sealing so my floor is drenched from last night's storm and it smells like crap because of the dirty wet, moldy floor. Well, at least I have a room. Goodnight for a few hours!

"Working so hard every night and day and now we get the payback"
Well we don't get the payback, yet. Next Monday will be the payback, when both of my huge projects are done, TfT is done (although I'm looking forward to it), and all I have left is a few tests during Finals week. That will be the Payback.
Right now I'm tired and stressed as I have an absolute ton of stuff to do tomorrow the same day that TfT starts. I am literally booked from 9:00a.m. to 8:00p.m. and I will also have homework.
Well I'll get by. I just hope I can finish the projects up nicely.

"There goes my heart"
Today was a good day. I got a lot accomplished. I suppose it started well when I found out that I got a 97 on a big paper recently. I then took a nap after class as my 2nd class was canceled. I wonder if the 2nd hour of work will ever be canceled so I can take naps when I'm working full-time.
Then I went to lunch with Lisa at Taco Bell and had a really good time. It was one of those times when you it hits you that you made a really good choice as to who you're going to spend your life with.
Then tonight I got a lot of homework done. These projects are starting to wrap up. Just in time too.
I also beat Mario 1 in 5 minutes and 50 seconds and Mario 3 in 16:55 on only my second try. Then I made it to a 15 Ranking in Halo on XBox Live. It was even a good day for video games.
Wow, I never finished my Top 25 Movie Countdown. Maybe I should start that up again sometime.

"Be patient and love will come to you"
It was a homework day...well at least it was supposed to be. I have two projects due next Monday. Right now, I'm about half way done with both. I didn't actually start my homework until 8:00p.m. at which time I worked for a few hours which is good for me. And I'm going to work some more.
I just took a break to play Halo. I am being very inconsistent in ranked games now. Recently I've gotten 3 firsts, 2 eigths, 3 sixes, and a few seconds, thirds and fourths. I just go back and forth. Well tonight I had one game which I won and second place only had 10 kills so that was a nice 15 point spread. Very rare in a ranked game. Overall, I improved my rank a little bit, only making up the ground I lost last time. I'd like to be at least a 15 before they reset the stats, but I don't care too much. I doubt I'll play any Live this week.

"I feel pretty good, I feel alright"
Today was a quick Saturday. Lots of stuff made it go fast. Played some poker tonight and then some Halo after hanging out with Rogers for awhile. Now i'm tired and I'll head to bed. What church service should I go to tomorrow. I doubt I'll make it to the 10:00. 11:30 here I come. Then its homework, homework, homework.

"I'm in a photograph"
Tax Party: What a fun time. After some Karaoke we played some Mafia, which was very fun. Then I wrapped up the night beating Super C twice and practicing Mario Speed runs for Teetering for Tots next week. I was able to finish Super Mario Bros. 1 in 6 Minutes and 22 Seconds after practicing for 45 minutes. I think that's a pretty good time, and I also feel like I have a good strategy for success. We'll see what the other guys bring to the table next week. If someone gets less than 6:15, I think I will have to forsake all mushrooms and see if I get lucky.
We also had a nice Cookout at the Homestead as Grandma and Grandpa Martin are in town. Baby Noel was there. She's a sweety.
What a fun Friday. I got an 84.5 on that hard test I had last week. Not too bad, not too great.

"This is the last chance...to stay where you are"
Bllaaaahhh...bllaaaaahhh....
Tomorrow's Friday. That is good.
Marilyn Monroe was killed by an overdose of drugs. This is true. However, the drugs were not in her stomache, which means she did not swallow them. How do you overdose without swallowing? Well, they weren't injected either. Instead her colon was an odd color. Marilyn Monroe died via an overdose administered through an enema. Enemas are common among stars as they help keep you healthy, thus it wasn't odd for Marilyn to have enemas, but not laced with a lethal amount of nembutal. The other thing about enemas is that you can't give one to yourself. Thus she was murdered. There is little doubt about it. At least that's what the books Murder Cover Up and Marilyn's Last Words have led me to believe. The question is who did it? Was it the Kennedys whom she had been sleeping with and was on the rocks with Robert when she died (he was even at her house that very day)? Well I haven't read the end of the 2nd book yet, so I don't know. Murder Cover Up points to the Kennedys while the other points to the Kennedys being framed.
Whatever the case may be there was certainly a magnificent cover up to protect the Kennedys.
My room smells like mold and crap mixed together.
Tomorrow my Grandparents from Iowa are visiting.
I hate doing homework.

Homework?
Good Day.
When I was in middle school my Dad and I went to quite a few Pacers games. Tonight we relived the magic and it was spectacular. Reggie made two 3's in a row when the Pacers were down six with less than 3 minutes to go. The first one he got fouled on and made the free throw for a 4 point play. It was so much fun. Reggie's retiring this year. It is sad. I idolized him as a child. So much so that I traded Michael Jordan cards for Reggie Duplicates. I have over 100 Reggie cards. I got them out tonight to look at them for old time's sake. What a fun night.
At the Hard Rock Cafe afterwards and on the way home my Dad and I had a nice chat about parenting, relationships and where were going this summer. In August were taking a 4 or 5 day trip somewhere. New Orleans, Chicago, and Boston are possibilities. It's nice to have such a great Dad. I really consider him a friend. We have a great time together and that's the bottom line.

"Holding out for something less"
SIFE journeys to Cincinatti include the tales of faulty projectors, sleeptalking, terrible hotel service, finding cheap Better Than Ezra cd's, and seriously destroying the competition.
If you're interested in seeing a glimpse of the sort of things we do check out www.philllip.blogspot.com Phil's got a nice chart on there demonstrating what we taught the business people we presented to in Cincinatti.
So our projector did break down in the middle of our presentation, but we kept right on going and our tech team quickly put the back-up projector up and we kept on rolling. It was a blessing that it broke down last night so we would have a contingency plan. We ended up winning $3,000 - $1,500 for winning our division and 3x $500 for winning individual criteria awards. Overall it was a very successful day. A few companies were talking about possibly partnering with us, which is very good.
An example of the benefits of SIFE: two of our students were offered jobs today at starting salaries of $34,700. It's not a ton of money, but it's certainly some good starting wages. They would also be in line to move up through the company. These would be Assistant-Manager positions at Osco Drugs.
Yes, I did find BTE's out of Print Closer album for $4.99 at FYE. Although I have a copy of the album, I decided to pick up an extra since they're no longer being made at all and they sell for over $4.99 new on EBay all the time. (not that I'm going to sell it)
Yesterday when I returned home from school there was a big wet spot in the middle of my floor. Some shirts and papers were drenched. I threw down a towel and left. Today when I returned the white shirt had dried with a brownish stain and the towel was still very wet. What happened? It's a mystery. I presented the evidence. You decide. Is there a mystery pop-spiller, a drip-drier in the middle of the room or something more sinister? This sounds like a case for Encyclopedia Brown!

"If you're not like this and that, you're gonna have to leave"
Today was a work day and it's gone okay so far. I'm working on studying for my tests tomorrow, I got some work done on one of my projects and I have a plan for the week at getting them both done on time.
I am feeling tired, but I've got a few hours left in me, I think. I just felt like writing a post. I'm sitting in the Business Lab and cranking Gavin DeGraw so that anyone in here could hear it, but I'm the only one. Pop Quiz: If Gavin DeGraw is playing in the computer lab and no one is there to hear it, is it really playing?
The answer is...Yes! Sorry that quiz sucked. Anyhow, the other day I couldn't post so I later posted my post for that day and my post for the next day, which means the common reader could have missed the FLL's, which were pretty good I thought so check them out if you missed them. As for now, here's another.
FLL:
Lisa (retelling a conversation she had with her beautician): So 6 people at $25 a pop...we figured it up and it was like $150 or something. So she said like 15% off of that would be like $75 or something and then another 10% on top of that. She also said we would have to get a calculator to know for sure.
Andrew: 25% of $150 is $37.50. So really you'll be paying $112.50.
Lisa: Aww crap, I thought I was getting a good deal.

"Mamma Mia, Mamma Mia"
Today we went to see Mamma Mia featuring the music of ABBA. It was a very entertaining show and a nice time. We also went to a nice restaurant beforehand, which was enjoyable.
In the afternoon we played a little croquet. The yard hasn't been cleaned up from the ice storm this winter so it was a challenging course and the real winner was the rough terrain. Although I was the winner of the 2nd game. It is early, yet I feel really tired.
I think I could pretty much schedule my week out Hour by Hour...which pretty much sucks. I have a ton of work to do on 2 projects in addition to going to Cincinnati and studying for 2 tests tomorrow. I hope I can get it all done, by the grace of God. The worst part is I have to do these projects for my groups. I have to follow through on them so that we all do well. I know I'll get them done, but I just need to make a lot of progress so my groupmates will be pleased soon. Wow, I'm tired. Going to bed so that I can get a good nights sleep and do well on my homework tomorrow afternoon.
Church to dinner - project work; Dinner to bed - study for tests.

"Today's the first day of the rest of your life"
I think the test went terribly today. It has to be the worst grade I've gotten on a test in awhile unless I am very fortunate. We'll see, but I'm hoping I somehow manage to pull out like an 85 or something instead of the 75 or so I kind of expect. Oh well. What will be will be.
Tonight Lisa and I were planning on hanging out but Uncle Dave called and he and Aunt Rebekah invited us to dinner at Hacienda as they were coming down so we can all see Mama Mia tomorrow night. It was a nice meal out and we had a good time chatting. Aunt Rebekah hadn't met Lisa yet so that was nice.
Overall an enjoyable time. A good day, I suppose although I wish the test would have gone better. But that's okay. I've got a lot of work to do this weekend...but not tonight.

"And the rest of our lives would 'a fared well"
Chapel went well today. The team did a great job and the responses from people seemed to be pretty good. It was enjoyable.
Well I have a test tomorrow that I need to do well on, but I'm having a hard time studying. I've got a study guide to read through, but I'm not sure at all what the essays may be about. That could really screw me. Also, I'm getting tired of studying and just want to watch tv for awhile. I think I'll pop in a movie and fall asleep on the couch. But first I at least need to read the chapter summaries to see if I learn anything about this stuff. Luckily I can study tomorrow for awhile too if I need to.
So I guess I'm going to a Pacers Game next Wednesday. That will be exciting. I hope they make it past the first round of the playoffs for Reggie's last year.
I also got bad news that Before the Robots BTE's new album isn't coming out until May 31st now. It was supposed to be April 26th so that sucks!
FLL:
Andrew: "Do you think you could be a missionary in London?"
Lisa: "Do they speak another language over there?"
Andrew: "What do you think they speak in England?"
Lisa: "Well I thought maybe they spoke French because they're over there by France."
Later...Lisa trying to figure out exactly where France is:
Lisa (motioning): "You know Alaska's up here and France is down here…"
Andrew: "France is on the other side."
Lisa: "So France is over by Massachushits?.?.What's on the other side?"
Andrew: "Asia"
Lisa: "China?"

"And so it is, just as you said it would be"
I remember a few months after school started and I felt like I didn't have an identity. In high school I was involved in everything and a good basketball player and everything. I made a difference at Liberty, I think, for the good.
So when I came to AU and felt lost in the mix, I struggled for awhile. I remember one night when I realized how I felt Lisa comforted me and told me I would make a difference here too. Just give it time.
Well the second semester of my Freshman year I began writing a weekly article in the Andersonian. Whatever assignment they gave me I went for. It was fun and exciting for me as I was interested in this sort of thing. I even got to do a couple of movie reviews, which was my preference. After interviewing Dean Terry Truitt of the FSB for a story, he apparently was impressed with the article. Flash forward about 6 months and Dr. Truitt invites me to be the Public Relations Coordinator at the FSB. Have I written about this before? Well this position has allowed me to help the FSB by getting news articles into the Herald Bulletin and on AU's website and stuff. Also, we've put together a newsletter for alumni and undergraduates.
The other half of the story is SIFE. I became involved in SIFE and we are making a difference as well. Tomorrow we'll present our story in Chapel to the student body. I have 3 sections of speaking. They should be pretty easy. I know it really well. Even so, it will be nerve racking...very nerve racking.
So to summarize, it is just as she said it would be. I feel as though I'm making a difference during my time here. I have an identity sometimes it's "Mr. Business" or sometimes it's "The SIFE President" (which I'm not...yet), but more importantly internally I feel as though I'm helping the school and Anderson. The Lord has blessed me with these opportunities and allowed me to get involved.
I think this whole thing sounds egotistical, but really it's just a story of how your goals can be reached. (I am a bit of an egotist though) Is egotist a word?

"Life goes easy on me, most of the time"
I feel tired. Do I stay up and work on a project that hasn't been started or do I go to bed and get a long night's sleep? Probably the former at least for awhile.
I had to get up early this morning and although I went back to sleep for a couple of hours bed just sounds so nice right now.
Lisa got me the Damien Rice CD today. Man, what a sweet thing to do. There has been like 3 or 4 times that I can remember where the Gal has gotten me a CD I've wanted completely out of the blue. Once a Sarah McLaughlin album, once a DMB album and now this. It's really nice when someone gives you something out of the Kindness of their heart. This Blower's Daughter song is amazing though...It really is. I think the context of the movie Closer bookended by this song makes both the song and the movie better.
What will it be like to NOT have homework for more than 3 months out of the year? That will be a nice feeling. Too bad it could be years and years for me depending on how much additional schooling I decide to go for and when.
Reggie Miller is retiring this season. He currently has 6 home games left and the playoffs. He's put up 30 points a game a few different times this season and was the Eastern Conference Player of the Week last week. What an amazing accomplishment for a 40 year-old in the same conference as Lebron James. I have over 150 Reggie Miller B-ball cards from when I was a child. I was obsessed with getting any Reggie card I could. I have 8 copies of one or two cards and I was proud of every one of them. When I was in middle school my Dad and I used to go to about 10 games a year. Those were the days! We may go to a game next week. He said we could get tickets. It will be a nice time to reminisce and celebrate the memories of going to the games to cheer for Reggie. I can't imagine what it will be like to grow old and see the celebrities I grew up with get old and die.

"Since then it's been a book you read in reverse so you understand less as the pages turn"
Tonight one of the best NCAA Tournaments in recent history came to a close. The elite eight round had 3 overtime games out of 4. I didn't watch much of the tournament at all. I was only really sad to miss the one day with Illinois came back from 15 down and then Duke tied at the buzzer later that day with a 3 that bounced off the rim three times.
Man school is really getting busy. I've got a bunch of stuff coming up. Let's hope it all goes well. Tomorrow we have another 7:30 AM SIFE Presentation. The good news is between the hours of 8:30 and 10:30 I'll be out cold in that nice old Loft of mine.
So Better Than Ezra's new music video was released online today. It's kind of cool to see your favorite band begin to get noticed by pop culture again. It's been years since a new Ezra song has been on the radio, yet A Lifetime has been getting regular airtime around the country. Let's hope it translates into Album sales for them.
Time to go to bed, I guess.

"When hatched a tragic opera in my mind"
A fabulous weekend. A Friday night of fun with the guys. A Saturday of fun with the gal. A Sunday of accomplishment - church, homework, time with family and friends.
I judge a lot of things based on their entertainment and fun value. Tonight we watched Wrestlemania XXI and it was both entertaining and fun. I used to watch wrestling on Saturday mornings when I was a kid. I haven't watched it much since, but it was enjoyable this evening at Wilbe's house.
My neck is sore. For the past six or seven years I have had neck problems. I used to pop it constantly through a slight turn (almost a nervous tick of sorts) Now it just hurts every once in awhile. Not so much painful, but annoying. Like a real good pop would just do wonders.
A brief review of the movie Closer: A filthy film full of raunchy and graphic sexual dialogue. Yet I somehow enjoyed it. The ending made it worthwhile to me. I doubt I would watch it again and I couldn't really recommend it, but to me the story of the four characters and the way they changed or not through the course of the movie was intriguing. If nothing else - the song by Damien Rice is unbelievable and almost worth watching the movie for. Just take out the middle 100 minutes and watch the first 5 and last 5 both with the beautiful Natalie Portman walking down the street. Ooops, I guess that was a spoiler of sorts: Natalie Portman does not die in this movie. Neither do any of the other characters. Not that there's really a time when their lives are in jeopardy really, but if you thought maybe someone would die, I just spoiled it. Sorry!
So today we went to Bethany Christian. Lisa does not like North too much so we are searching the area for a church we both like for us to attend after we get married. A sad feeling entered my gut as the service began and I realized that I was in preliminary stages of leaving the only church I've ever known as home.

"Can't take my eyes off of you"
Today was a nice relaxing Saturday with Rogers. I spent the whole day with the gal. We tried to get Dave Tickets this morning but the pavillion seats for both shows were sold out in the 10 minutes we were waiting in line after they went on sale. I guess that saved us a few bucks. We later went to the Castleton mall and also Coldstone for some ice cream.
I feel really tired tonight. Probably because I mostly just sat around all day plus I got hardly any sleep last night. But I did sleep for a couple of hours this afternoon.
We watched the movie Closer tonight. It was interesting. I enjoyed the overall plot and character archs but not the endless graphic discussions about sex. It was a little ridiculous at times. Anyway an amazing song by Damien Rice in the film. I may have to get his O album which I have thought about getting many times, but never gotten around to it.

"Don't wake me I plan on sleeping in"
I am tired...going to Rogers' in a few hours so that we can go to Karma to possibly get good seats to Dave. I'm so tired though I may see if she just wants to forget it. It would save us money anyhow.
So tonight we went to Sin City a very intriguing movie then played Poker with a few fellas. I managed to win $6.71, which made me the leader for the night. It was a fun time. Then we played Halo for a few hours as usual.

"Coming down, I feel the sound of the daybreak"
It seems like its been a long day, but really I slept in and then I'm going to bed relatively early. I played some B-ball at the Wellness Center today, which was a blast. Also, I learned how to cook Mint Brownies for an Operations Management project. I love the Mint brownies. They've been a Rosenberg Christmas Staple for as long as I can remember. Now I can make them myself (in theory).
Well tomorrow at 7:30AM we present our SIFE Presentation to the school of business faculty. Nice and early does it. Tomorrow night we're playing some poker I think. Lets hope I'm not too tired to play well. I've been doing pretty decent recently. We'll see how it goes!
My niece was in town today so when she came in the door she was acting all shy and stuff. So I laid down on the floor and she ran over and gave me a big hug and laid her head on my chest. It was the sweetest thing ever. She's 15 months. I love that little girl.
