"You're a stalled car in the desert"

The least celebrated Halloween in the history of Berg. Today was a typical work day. Tonight Rogers and I relaxed and did very little, save a little bit of hot-tubbing. Then I skipped Club and did some homework. Now I'm updating my Blog.

One of my earliest Halloween costumes was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Costume. Then later I remember going as a Clown a couple of years. One year, my parents bought me this really scary masks that had Halogram eyes. It was pretty sweet, no pun intended. Halloween was always a cool day, literally, it was freezing. Today, however, the weather was fantastic. We used to get lots of candy, just for asking for it.

November should hold a lot of superb things. In 11 days, I'll be seeing Better Than Ezra in Concert. In 16 days, Lisa & I will be celebrating seven years of dating, while Ricky celebrates 22 years alive. Thanksgiving will be held at the Rosenbergs this year, which should be fun. That means I need to purchase some Christmas presents soon though. I think I have Grandpa this year.

I submitted a story to the Literary Arts Magazine today. Hopefully, I'll make the cut.

"Or feel the touch that I adore"

- Funniest Line of the Day -
Kyla when hearing about how Dottie fell asleep during her party: "She pulled a Lisa!"

- Happy Birthday, Eileen -

Today was an okay Sunday. I went to church. I went to Hacienda with Rogers. I went to the Mall. I went to see Elizabethtown. I did homework. What did you do?

"Who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters!"

Just a few funny lines from this evening's activities:

Lisa on what Andrew must be thinking: "I wonder if I'm going to play Halo tonight. I wonder how I can hump Phil in Halo tonight on the M0rdorf Bridge or the Gandalf Bridge."

Shannon on what Andrew must be thinking: "SIFE! SIFE! SIFE!"

Chapman on why he never calls Shannon: "I lost your number, Shannon. And I thought about calling Lisa, but I thought that might be awkward since I never talk to you guys anymore (Lisa & Andrew) if I called just to get Shannon's number."

Christian on us arriving at her House's Party: "Were you guys invited to this..."

Andrew on why he regrets immediately leaving that party: "Man now I feel stupid for wearing the Santa hat. If you wear the Santa hat, you gotta stay."

Wilbe as we're coming up the stairs: "Do not come upstairs. I just got out of the shower. You guys might want to wait downstairs."

Shannon's response: "We'll wait outside!" (Unfortunately, it was in the 40s)

Shannon & Lisa on bathrooms: "Why didn't we just go in Hartung, like we normally do when we're on this side of town."
------------------
Yes, tonight was a fun night. Apparently, anytime House of Wax is involved, the night turns out wonderful! Minus the part that our stay at Dottie's party lasted about 1 awkward minute.

"It's your gradual descent into a life you never meant"

This day was the day that a group of us went to Haunted places in Indianapolis. Specifically, a cornmaze, house, and hayride. Afterwards we went to Coldstone then to Josh's to watch Poltergeist, which I slept through.

The Anderson Media Group is offering many positions. A total of 14 persons could be working with the group for 8 to 15 hours per week.

I am pretty tired. My weekend schedule seems pretty good. Not too much to do. Start studying for a test. Work on some other projects.

"You're really a part of me"

It may seem like Lisa and I fight often. In fact, rarely does more than a couple of days (sometimes hours) go by without some sort of spat or one of us gets annoyed with the other. But there is something that I feel is unique about our fighting style. We never drag it out. Rarely would the words "We're fighting" come out of our mouths and mean anything other than "right now" or at worst "today." Our fights are rather quickly resolved or pushed aside. Normally, they're pointless so there isn't much to resolve, as those things tend to go.

Of course there are those times when you think you've had enough. This is it, I might think. I'm not calling her for the rest of the weekend. I'm so sick of all this crap. But it never plays out like that. Instead, within a few hours one or the other gets over it and realizes that we can work through whatever the issue is. In short, as far as I can remember, over the course of our 7 year relationship not once have we let a day go by when we were fighting. If we're fighting on Friday night, by Saturday night, we've made ammends. If we fight on Friday afternoon, by Friday night, it's over. Somehow we always get over it.

The song Wee Small Hours of the Morning summarize my feelings best. If we had been fighting, and I was absolutely furious, by the time I'm going to bed, I miss that gal. I realize that in the grand scope of things, whatever it was isn't all that important and, I wish I could be with her.

So anyway, I thought I would put that out there. Outside looking in, one might think, "Why the heck are they together?" I can't really imagine being a part. I've looked into the same eyes, kissed the same cheeks for 7 years. Here's to a lifetime more.

"Our heads are filled with perfect sound"

A History of Violence (4 Stars)

Perhaps my favorite movie of the year so far. I just downright enjoyed it. Check it out.

Overall, this Wednesday, was a superb day. We had an All SIFE Meeting and then Culvers dinner tonight, which was very enjoyable. Normally, we don't really bond a lot until we travel together for competition. This year, we seem to be bonding as a team already. It's been a blast.

Here is a picture of a few SIFE men. This picture will appear in the Alacritis Calendar. So, you will be able to purchase your very own Men of SIFE Photo and get a bunch of other photos too.

Since this picture is leaking onto the net, I'm expecting a lot of illegal downloads and total viewership to my Blog to double. We'll see what happens.

"I close my eyes and disappear tonight"

For anyone praying that the new business I'm helping launch with the School of Business: Thank you! So far, God has truly blessed us. We have gotten exactly the amount and types of applicants we need to make this work in just a few days. It's been a huge blessing. There is still a lot of work to be done, but so far so good.

Tonight is one of those "not too much" homework nights. Praise the Lord. I've been exhausting myself the last few days. Tonight I'm just scrapping together whatever I have to do and I'll wing the rest.

Overall, life is grand. As if there was ever any doubt.

"Spinning around gets me high"

Better Than Ezra tickets have been procured. I learned the word procured from a video game of all places (Phantasy Star IV for the Sega Genesis), and I've used it ever since. I'll be witnessing God's Gift to Rock on stage in Bloomington, Ind. on Friday, November 11. If you're reading this and you're interested in attending the show (a nearly guaranteed good time), get some tickets through ticketmast ($15), or let me know and I'll get a ticket for you, and you can pay me back. Believe me though, this should be the perfect event to let loose and listen to an amazing live rock band. They're live shows are full of humor and crowd interaction. They usually invite someone on stage to either play along on the guitar or the cowbell (during their Don't Fear the Reaper cover).

Enough on that.

The funniest thing I heard all day was on Laguna Beach. A mother is talking to her daughter (Taylor) about her graduation gown.
"That's why you need to go ultra-sexy, to counter the potato-bag effect [from the gown]."

Fathers beware. Your daughters are being taught to go "Ultra-Sexy" under graduation gowns.

Well, I've got some homework to finish, so it's goodnight.

"We couldn't imagine what it was"

This is my 242nd post. Who knows what might happen? Check this out. I think I'm in the middle of my night's sleep right now. I took a nap from 11:30 to 11:50. But then, instead of getting up, I kept resetting my alarm until after 1:00 a.m. So I slept about 1.5 hours, which is equivalent to 1/4 night's sleep for me.

However, I have some homework to do, so I had to finally get up to keep working. We'll see how the homework goes. So far badly, because when I was supposed to start it, I decided to Blog.

I did not make it to church today. Unfortunately, Lisa's car ran out of gas in her driveway when she was leaving to pick me up, so I went to her house instead of God's house. We spent the whole day together, which was nice.

I'm not done yet. The best is yet to come.

"I think about it now"

Tonight was a heck of a party. 30+ persons visited La Casa de Rosenberg for some Lasagna and Camp-firing. Hopefully, a good time was had by all. Afterwards, one group went to Starbucks, while another went Hookahing, and a 3rd played the game of Pit well into the night.

Later, I watched the Machinist with Ricker. An intriging film. I feel rather tired. And so I must cut this short. Tomorrow is Sunday. I have a lot of homework and other commitments and things. Hopefully, the day will be grand. I will spend some time with Rogers, which is desperately needed.

"The gun went off it was a mistake"

Work seems to be getting extremely busy. We are in the midst of hiring roughly 10 people to begin a Media Services business in town. It should be interesting...and busy. The part that scares me is that, I could be adding to my workload for the year, which I don't like because it's the last one and it's supposed to be a blast. We'll see though. It'll probably smooth out soon.

Tonight was Cheesy Horror movie night after dinner out at BWW and Hookahing it in the basement. Overall a good Friday...they always are. I'm also very tired since I'm riding out about 4.5 hours of sleep from last night. Basically at this point, I've had 4.5 hours in the past 42 hours of life. Plus a couple of 15 minute naps! Thus, I am tired. Thus, I shall sleep.

If you're reading this post and if you're coming to the party tonight, and if the driveway is full, please park on the side-street about 50 yards before my house...yes, you will probably have to turn around to go back to it, because you will have passed it before you will have seen that the driveway is full.

"I am back. This time, I'm the big surprise"

Well, the GMAT went well. I received a score of 680, which is in the 90th percentile. My goal was 700, but I mostly would have been disappointed with less than 680 since that's what I scored on the practice test. So anyway, I was pleased. But...when I told Chris an employee at the School of Business her jaw-dropped in excitement. Apparently, this is a phenomenal score. She called Doyle immediately, which was cool, then he came to talk to me about it. Apparently, the score is Doctoral worthy. I was in the 96th percentile in Verbal and 64th in Quantitative. Apparently, there are a lot more people who are good at math than english, because my scores in both were very similar.

Saturday is the cookout / lasagna dinner at the Rosenberg's. So far we've got roughly 24 people coming. Should be a super-good time. Additionally, there could be a rockstar attending with a friend of our's, Holly. I say our's like in the Mafia, because Holly is a Made-Girl if Phil were a Mafia boss. Perhaps someone like Stacey would be a Made-Girl in my Mafia family. Thus if Phil was referring to her, he could say a "friend of ours."

That's the story, folks. Tonight: movie with Josh & Ricky then sleep. Tomorrow 8:15 a.m. meeting with the Boss. As in my actual boss, not the Family Boss!

Band of the Day: The Elms

"Just count the inches on your lifeline"

Today's the Day: GMAT Day...Yeah...Hip Hip Hooray. If read or thought the preceding sentence (after the colon) contains a word then two words that rhyme with that word. Can you find them all? No Hip does not rhyme with Hip or GMAT. Sorry.

Well, we'll (wierd) see how it goes. I'll let you know...good or bad.

Also, rumor has it there's a massive party on Saturday on 38th St. I hope you all can make it. Let me know.

In other news, I interviewed my second person today. He will probably be hired tomorrow and begin work next week. Man it's going to be a busy time for Berg.

Goodnight, Friends.

"Sing me Spanish techno"

My Top 2 Favorite Females - Congrats Lisa & Noel
"It's all happening," I said today with glee as my SIFE Vice Presidents all told me how well their programs were going. I was getting concerned that things were not moving as quickly as they should, and then I find out that great progress is being made. Yes, I am a fanatic about SIFE. I consider it my job, (which is appropriate since I do have a paid internship as the president). Since it's my job, I take pride in the work that we do to help Anderson. We have 65 members, and multiple layers of management. I really feel like I am getting wonderful management experience.
Today was Lisa's B-Day and for her primary surprise from me, I snuck into her house last night and put the new Ashlee Simpson CD in her car, which was released at Midnight. She seems to have enjoyed the surprise and had a fabulous weeklong Birthday celebration overall. This year will be the end of Rogers and the beginning of Rogenberg!

"This thing is your mission"

Happy Birthday to Lisa Ann Rogers, the Love of My Life. She is 22 Today.

I find myself immersed in the middle of what looks to be another busy week. I've discovered that I really hate night classes. I would much rather have 3 more classes during the week than waste almost my entire Tuesday night in class. Basically, it wipes me out for Wednesday because I have to stay up very late doing homework, usually. This means that if I'm planning far enough ahead then I should be doing Wednesday's homework on Monday night, which also sucks.

On a happier note, here's a picture of my niece, Noel from Sunday and then a pic of RogenBerg from Lisa's B-Day Extravanganza at Coldstone's.

See how happy Ice Cr...Love makes us!!!!

Also, Lisa bought me The New Pornographers CD, which is quite good. If you want to borrow some Porn (music) let me know.

"I reach out from the inside"

The last day of Fall Break. They call it Fall Break when really it could just as accurately be called Friday Break. But we love it anyway.

Tonight I took a practice GMat test, which is the test for admissions into MBA school. My goal for the test is to score a 700, which would certainly be Ivy Leauge material. On the practice test tonight, my score was a 680. I was pleasantly surprised to be in the 90th percentile. I missed a total of 17 multiple choice out of 82, which would be terrible on a school test, but isn't bad on the GMat I guess. Anyway, my confidence is boosted. I hope I can pull off a decent score on Thursday, by the grace of God. My score could make a difference in our future plans as far as where we'll be and when so we'll see what happens.

I watched Say Anything yesterday. Lloyd Dobler is a great character.

"Listen to the fireplace roar"

Birthday Night out with Rogers. "Our annual date," I called it, which is fairly accurate. Although we usually spend time together throughout the week and occassionally on the weekend, if alone we are usually just relaxing around the house for a few hours. If we go out, it's either to Hacienda or we're with other friends. Thus actual dates are very few and quite far between. A nice visit to Castleton that was unprofitable in regards to searching for sweaters for our Engagement picture on Monday.

I started practicing for the G-Mat today, the admissions test for an MBA or "Business School" as I'm finding its called. The test is on Thursday. My goal is to score 700, which should put me in okay position for some of the top schools. The cool thing is, I think I even find my score out on Thursday. It will probably be hard though. Today, in practice, I got 30 of 36 math problems correct. Seemed okay.

Interestingly, the test is a Computer Adaptive Test meaning the difficulty of the questions will change depending on whether or not the previous question's answer was correct.

It's time for Christmas Music!!!! I picked up a Nat King Cole and Dean Martin Mix at Kohl's for $5.

"Happy birthday dear Lisa"

Tonight we went to the Macaroni Grill to kickoff a whirlwind Birthday weekend for Rogers. She's going out with her dad tomorrow, me tomorrow night and my family on Sunday. And her B-Day's Not until Tuesday!

We had a good old time at the Grill though. A good fun group. However, our Italian food led to much stink throughout the night as the garlic and onions didn't digest that well in everyone. We played Risk (Future Risk) tonight until 6:00 a.m. By the grace of Jason and Vince's inexperience, I emerged from the depths of defeat to win. But as Jason said, "there are no winners in a game like this." It took 6 hours and there were a lot of smells, as I previously mentioned.

One highlight was pulling off "The Goat" at 5:45 a.m. to an unsuspecting Felder.
Tomorrow night: a rare date night with Rogers. Can't wait!

"The only constant in the world for me"

The Vintage T-Shirt Sale turned out to be an overwhelming success. Pretty much as good as it possibly could have. With roughly $340 worth of expenses we profited $185...pretty reasonable return for two days worth of sales and a few days of collecting shirts.

I have no more classes this week, as it is Fall Break, but I do have one homework assignment for tonight and tomorrow I'll get dressed up for a SIFE activity and then to interview someone for possible work at the Falls School of Business. That should be interesting. Another thing to add to the resume. Interviewed and hired employees.

I saw my high school math teacher tonight who I respected and looked up to a great deal in high school. I hadn't seen him for a couple years. He mentioned that he'd been at Liberty now for 8 years. Which means, it was 8 years ago that I was a freshman in high school. I still remember some specific things about that day.

In another few months I'll have another first: first day on the job. These are exciting times. Immediately exciting is the fact that I should receive a good 6 to 7 hours of sleep after the last two nights of less than 5 coming not too long after my 1 hour in Toronto.

Although I love college, I cannot imagine looking back on college and thinking "Man, I had it easy." And yet, that's what we're told we will think. Maybe those folks weren't quite as productive or busy as we are these days. Because days like today downright SUCK!!! Throw a few of them in a row and it's amazing we survive.

"There all along"

Tired. That's me tonight. And unfortunately I have a 7:30a.m. meeting tomorrow. School seems like a distant afterthought compared to all that is going on. Tomorrow is the Vintage T-Shirt Sale. I hope we sell a lot, but even moreso I hope that Fall Break arrives very very soon. Thursday can't come soon enough. Sorry for being boring Berg. At least I am always able to alliterate, eh?

Love - Berg

"I send my thoughts to far off destinations"

My day consisted of the following: No Church, Lunch at Hacienda, Time spent with Rogers...4p.m. supposed to be studying... 5p.m. supposed to be studying... 6p.m. - present supposed to be studying. However, I failed all the way through.

Basically I'm screwed for my test tomorrow. Right now I'm thinking of a 4:00 a.m. bed time. We'll see. My first instance of "Senioritis," the disease where seniors wisely start reprioritizing and putting school near the bottom. I say wisely, because the disease is already taking me over, and frankly, school isn't that important.*** Spending time with friends, trying to change the world (through SIFE of course), and trying to line up a post-school job all seem and are more important than tomorrow's test.

So I visited a Canadian gals blog that I met and saw a sitemeter, so now I have a sitemeter and will know that you are reading. Yes, that means you, you anonymous visistors who don't comment, but then mention that you read my Blog, occasionally. Yes you, you good-looking, fun-loving people.

I'm sitting here staring at the screen trying to think of something to type all in the name of not studying.

I recently fell in love with Death Cab for Cutie. That's another 5 c.d.s to add to the list of future purchases. But before I do that, I've got to get the wonderful L.A. Rogenberg something for her 22 Birthday, which is a mere 8 days away.

***that's the disease talking again.

"Bend through allies and bounce off all the buildings"

What a fantastic week:
Here are the Highlights in Reverse
  • Saturday was one of the best nights out in a long time. A group of eight ate a great (lots of rhyming) meal at Red Lobster. Very fun time with great friends.
  • Saturday began in Toronto after 1 hour of real sleep, I got in a taxi to head to the airport. 6 hours later I'm in Indy. I did sleep pretty much through both of my flights.
  • Saturday hanging out with Rogers was great. I also came home to a cleaner room thanks to Rogers.
  • Friday night was a great SIFE party at a pretty cool club. It was a good time to observe dancers, enjoy the music and atmosphere.
  • Friday afternoon the final round of the SIFE World Cup was amazing. Zimbabwe takes the victory over the US, Nigeria and France.
  • Thursday to Friday- I watched 12 SIFE presentations in 2 days. 37 minutes each makes for a couple of long days, but the projects were so amazing and interesting that it wasn't bad at all. Some great life-changing work is being done.
  • Wednesday through Friday- In addition to SIFE events, I fell in love with the City of Toronto. What a great place. Hopefully I can make it back sometime.
  • Tuesday - the Forum that took me to Toronto. A good time to give and get feedback.
  • Throughout the week, I spent time with people from Britain, Germany, Canada, Singapore, Australia and Japan. I also met people from South Korea, South Africa, China, Botswana and a host of other places. A simply amazing experience.

The Bad News - While I was gone Anderson seems to have fallen apart:

  • Phil the Facilitator broke his teeth and hurt his wrist in a Moped accident.
  • The entire AU Student e-mail system crashed permanently erasing over 700 of my e-mails that I had not sorted yet.
  • Phil and Trent split the vote allowing a 3rd party to steal the Homecoming King spotlight.
  • Okay so it didn't fall apart, but definately some crappy stuff.

"Picture this"

I'm sitting in a pub talking with two Britains, one Canadian and an Australian. Down the table sits a South African and a half dozen more Canadians and Australians and another American who's from Saint Lucia.

This was my first night in Toronto. Surreal. Amazing. I love traveling in foreign countries. I love meeting people from all over the world. What could be better? Oh yeah, they're all here for SIFE too.

It's been a great two days so far. The 2005 SIFE World Cup starts tonight. Should be exciting.
Hello, Andersonians. You're missed. Can't wait to see you all on Friday.

"There are faces in the houses where we used to live"

I'm off to Toronto, Ontario. At least I think it's in Ontario. I wasn't really all that sure where I was going until I finally looked at a map a few hours ago. It's been a whirlwind weekend though trying to finish up everything before leaving. Tomorrow I fly. Let's hope for sunshine and a nice easterly breeze (meaning a breeze heading east rather than a Resurrection breeze). In a mere couple of days, I'll be chanting SIFE with hundreds or thousands of other SIFE fanatics. What could be better?

"Anywhere you go"

B.U.N. DUX. Rogers. Berg. Pumpkin Carving. Really good pumpkin. Tired. Monday: Canada. Tonight: Sleep. More Sleep = More Tired.

It seems like just a few days or maybe months ago that I was in freshman orientation. It's interesting to think that for that 3 or 4 days you're put with a group of people who will all go their seperate ways over the next 4 years. But you remember vividly some of those that were with you for those very important first days.

Philip I met the first day of moving into Myers Hall. I was on a big Nintendo kick at the time and it was our first conversation that both Nintendo and Croquet came up as we walked to the ice-cream social / outdoor movie event. Later he rode with us to Meijers. "These are going to be my new best friends," he's reported to have thought about that day. I remember laughing a lot.

Flash forward two academic years and I'm delighted to discover that Phil is interested in rooming with Josh, Ricky and me. What a treat.

My mind is wandering to wonderous places, as Dave Matthews would put it.

"Many the lives we lived in each day"

What a splendid Friday. A very busy day. It began by watching the movie last night. Afterwards, I hit the hay around 3:00. Wake up: 8:23. Take Shower, dress in suit. 3 Classes. Lunch. Work from 1:o0 to 5:10. Very productive. Go home e-mail people. 6:00 out to eat. Cheeseburger in Paradise with the ladies. Coldstone. Goodwill. Home to work on shirts, relax and chat with good good friends. A very fun evening of relaxation.

Tomorrow, the first day I can sleep in past 9:30 in at least 3 weeks. I can't wait. Maybe 11, maybe 12. I definately have some work to do tomorrow, but it should be a good day of rest.

Goodnight, world.
