Tonight I went to see a Madison Greene concert at a church in Greenfield. It was an okay show, not as good as the two I've seen in the past, but only because there weren't very many people there. The music was good. Psalters was the opening band. They were interesting as well.
The singer from the Psalters had some interesting things to say. Specifically, that America is bombing villages to liberation. His point was that our brothers and sisters in Christ are being bombed, and we should suffer with them. He went on to say the other option is to suffer with them as a dictator tortures them. It is a sticky situation America finds itself in. As Peter Parker says "With great power comes great responsibility." At least I think that's what he says. Anyway, I suppose I am proud that my country believes in freedom and follows through on this belief by attempting to free others from tyranny, dictatorship, etc. It is amazing how people apparently respond to freedom. Iraqis voted despite attacks and threats of death. They must believe in something. Not to say, it was necessarily the best choice to go to war, but simply that America is willing to invest in others. I do not believe this is a "war for oil." Were spending Billions of Dollars fighting! It may be a "war for revenge" but whatever the true motives are hopefully freedom will come from it. Freedom to worship whomever one wishes, freedom to choose, freedom to live as one pleases.
