"Right there a song became a soundtrack for this space and time"

What song are you listening to right now? Do you remember when you first heard that song? Do you remember when you most memorably heard that song? I was thinking today about what songs I'm going to put on my Winter/Spring Mix that will remind me of this time in my life whenever I pop it in. It looks as though there will be a Postal Service song or two. Also some Frou Frou. Perhaps some Iron & Wine. Other than that it's a little up in the air. A few other songs that have been songs of the day may make their way onto the mix.

I heard about the idea on the Almost Famous DVD. Cameron Crowe said he made mix tapes every month and without fail he's transported back to that time in his life. I know the feeling and want to be able to replicate it in the future. I want to be transported back to my memories of college. Not much in life is as bittersweet or special as a sweet memory of yesterday (well actually longer ago than yesterday, but that sounded nicer than alternative choices).

So I discovered that I can draw life lessons from Halo. Just as I mentioned yesterday that a good Halo player is one who makes good choices and then executes effectively a good liver is one who makes good choices and then executes effectively. And when I say liver I am referring to one who lives rather than an internal organ used for secreting bile.

Maybe I'll draw some more life lessons from Halo in the future. In the meantime choose wisely and execute!

Song of the Day: Collide - Howie Day
