"Well I know there's a reason to change. Well, I know there's a time for us."

Instead of reading my Business Law book, I decided to make another post, this time lamenting or celebrating the passing of time.
(note: a thorough review of The Ring Two is in the post below this one, please do yourself a favor and read the review before going to the movie)

My friend Phil wrote in his blog that he was wondering what "The Last Summer. Ever." would hold. It really is the last real summer...before work...before marraige...before life and in six months it will all be over.

I remember two specific summers vividly. The summer between 7th and 8th grade was an excellent one for me. I had a youth trip to Tennessee that was memorable and made some new friends at Camp Challenge (Indiana Summer Camp for Church of God goers) that year as well. I just remember it being a great summer.

Last summer was also great. I remember having such a great time with all of my friends last summer.
With Lisa watching Big Brother religously and going to Fraziers for ice cream like 3 times a week.
Going to Cleveland with Lisa for my birthday to see the Gin Blossoms and Better than Ezra before seeing Dave Matthews back in Noblesville two days later.
With Shannon watching BB and the Amazing Race.
With everybody shooting fireworks, going to Coldstone, and watching movies at Josh's house: Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, The Ninth Gate and Apocalypse Now.
Going to Myrtle Beach with Josh and Ricky was a superfun time.
Even working at the FSB in the SIFE office sometimes until well after 5 seems like a good memory.
One night with Ricker and Amber we went out to Pizza Hut got some ice cream and went to a movie in Muncie. Bought a couple of cd's that night.
Going to Las Vegas with my Dad. Seeing Elton John and Cirque De Sol. Winning some money in Blackjack.
It was the best summer ever. I forgot to mention Lithuania, which took up the first quarter of the summer. I loved Lithuania.

Now the last summer of my life is knocking at the door. Can the upcoming summer be as good as the last? I won't be at home this summer. I will miss my home, my parents and they will miss me. Will I waste my summer playing video games at night instead of getting to know my friends a little better and making lasting memories? Will it really be the last summer? I'm getting married on June 24, 2006. Will we spend Friday nights with our friends after we're married? Will I ever have the feeling I get when school is out and a weight is lifted off of my shoulders?

Life is just beginning and I'm already sad that so many good times have passed.
